Sarah Jessica Parker's New Fashion Line Hit's Steve and Barry's

IT’LL be hard not to bite when Sarah Jessica Parker’s new fashion line, Bitten, launches, because it’s so darn cheap.

On Thursday, the former “Sex and the City” star launches Bitten at Steve & Barry’s shopping mall stores nationwide - with leather peep-toe shoes for only $9.98, to ankle-zip straight-leg jeans for $14.98.

That’s right. Everything is under $20.

But the 42-year-old actress, known for boldly mixing thrifty vintage items with expensive designer bags and shoes, has been tempting us, modeling her new line all around the Big Apple.

“The collection is inspired by the clothes she wears when she’s not on the red carpet,” says Howard Schacter, chief partnership officer at Steve & Barry’s. “With a couple of hundred dollars, women will be able to create an entire wardrobe.”

Key items in the 150-piece collection (which will grow to about 500 in the fall) include a black cocktail dress with grosgrain ribbon ($19.98), striped crew-neck shirts ($7.98), a two-button blazer ($19.98), hoodies ($14.98), and a collection of jeans and pants ($14.98-$19.98 each).

“It’s the stuff we wear every day,” says Parker on BittenSJP.com. “It’s to the office, it’s to a cocktail party, it’s to go to bed at night, it’s to get your newspaper in the morning, sit around your college dorm, it’s to have a slumber party with your girlfriends.”

College logo chain Steve & Barry’s sought out the former “Sex and the City” star because they wanted someone who “would passionately believe” in creating a women’s line, and had “no interest in creating another celebrity vanity line,” says Schacter.
