Mom jeans are fashion disaster

Almost everyone has at least one pair of jeans.

Fashion experts cringe when they look around because too many women are wearing “mom jeans.” They have a tapered leg, a backside that leaves you looking flat and a waist band that doubles as a push-up bra.

But no one has to wear them!

"Women who still want to wear their denim but yet they want to cover. They want to tummy tuck, they want to lift the bottom and they also are very slimming and so it hides a little bit," explains Nichole Martinez, who works at Dillard’s in Norfolk.

Look for embellished pockets to give your backside a lift.

Stretch jeans promise to flatten your tummy, lift your backside and allow you to fit into a smaller size than you usually wear.

It will take some time to find the perfect jeans because you’ll need to try on several pairs in different styles and sizes. Also, the right pair of jeans is an investment. You’ll likely drop $80 to $130, so make sure you get the right ones.
